3. Launiupoko Beach Park
Launiupoko Beach Park offers its visitors wonderful recreational opportunities such as paddle boarding, swimming, picnicking, whale watching and sunset views. It’s located between Olowalu and Lahaina on the west side of Maui. It’s perfect for a relaxing day in the sun. Surrounding lava rock wall protects from big waves providing good swimming conditions for kids. But, longboard surfers also love this spot for the good breaks beyond the lava rock wall as well.
4. Kamaole Beach Park
Kama’ole Beach Park is divided into three distinct beach areas (“Kamaole I”, “Kamaole II” and “Kamaole III”). It’s worth visiting. All beaches are comfort and quite different. Here you’ll find majestic views alongside turquoise water, white sand, tall palm trees, fresh tropical air, and amazing activities. This is a great spot to learn to surf, swim and relax on the beaches where nature provides a glorious sunset over the crashing waves.
5. Honolua Bay
Honolua Bay is a gem of the northwest corner of Maui featuring a hidden bay, rocky beach, park, snorkel and dive areas, and wonderful forest. The place is teeming with life but fishing is prohibited here because Honolua Bay is a part of marine conservation. There are also lots of native Hawaiian plants and fabulous trees in the forest. It’s a perfect place to hide from the scorching summer sun and get closer to nature. You can take a short hike through the lush tropical forest and enjoy the surroundings.
6. Banyan Tree Park in Lahaina
This is a great spot to cool down in the shade under the large banyan trees during hot summer days. These fascinating exotic trees were imported from India and planted in April 1873. Banyan trees (called paniana in Hawaiian) are the oldest trees in Hawaii with strong trunks and sweeping branches. What makes them unique is that they grow sideways spreading a huge network of branches. It’s so relaxing to walk under the large canopy.
7. Kapalua Bay
Kapalua Bay Beach was named as “America’s Best Beach” in 1991. Kapalua Bay teems with marine life offering great opportunities for exploring the wonders of the ocean in West Maui. The place attracts avid sun-seekers and water sports enthusiasts. Views of gentle breaking waves are so mesmerizing. This is a nice beach where you can end your day while watching the marvelous sunset over the Pacific Ocean.
8. H.A. Baldwin Beach Park
H.A. Baldwin Beach Park was used to be a private recreation area but today is a favorite hangout spot among tourists and locals. This is a picturesque beach park featuring a lovely white-sand beach, baseball and soccer field, barbecues, picnic tables, etc. This destination attracts lots of bodyboarders, swimmers and surfers. There are also protected swimming areas that are good for kids. Sunset is a beautiful time on the beach. The scenery becomes magical.
9. Maui Tropical Plantation
Maui Tropical Plantation is an awesome natural place that features plenty of marvelous plants and flowers. It’s one of the most gorgeous sights on the island. 10. Makaluapuna point
Makaluapuna Point or it also called Dragon’s Teeth is a great place to witness the incredible forces of nature. The point itself was created from one of the last lava flows on Maui. The views of magnificent waves crashing against large rocks are spectacular! The trail is considered as moderate and located near Lahaina. It’s good for hiking, walking, lovely nature trips.
