Zyuratkul National Park, a Southern Urals gem in Chelyabinsk Region, derives its name from Lake Zyuratkul, a vast expanse situated at 2375 feet above sea level—among the largest in the region. Lake Zyuratkul’s beauty has evolved due to a dam, revealing a picturesque landscape with mirrored waters against encircling mountains.

The park is a montage of mountain ridges — Nurgush, Zuratkul, Yagodniy, and others—each contributing to its allure. Mount Bolshoi Nurgush at 4613 feet reigns as the region’s highest peak, while Mount Zurkul follows at 3855 feet. Around a dozen peaks ascend above 3280 feet.

Nature’s limits reveal wonders: at Mount Uvan, near “At Three Peaks,” an expansive elm grove thrives, defying expectations. Typically absent in mountain foothills, this grove thrives uniquely here, marking Russia’s easternmost realm of mountain elms—a captivating marvel in Zyuratkul’s diverse landscape.
