In June 2023, filmmaker Roman Khomlyak and his second operator embarked on a journey to Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park to capture its natural beauty. As they filmed the scenic trails, they took a break at the riverbank. Intrigued by the crystal-clear waters of the Smith River, they decided to leverage their Panasonic GH6 camera and Laowa 6mm ultra-wide angle lens, filming in Full HD at 300fps. Later, they employed Topaz Video AI 4 to upscale the footage to a stunning 4K resolution. This spontaneous decision not only added a tranquil element to their video but also ensured a high-quality visual experience, showcasing both the park’s natural trails and the serene beauty of the river with enhanced clarity.
