With a keen passion for showcasing the breathtaking beauty of the region, our filmmaker Robert Hofmeyr embarked on this venture with his trusty drone, DJI Mavic 2 Pro. This video was filmed in the northern part of the Okavango Delta where the river spreads out to form the swamps. Robert was on a Mobile Safari – a local guide set up camp for them in the bush. It was very wild and they were the only people in the area. Their campsite was just a clearing near a waterhole and there were no facilities at all. During the day they would explore the area by vehicle. The floodwaters were low, so they were able to drive around the area – when the water is high, much of the area is only accessible by boat. It was extremely hot during the day and they also experienced some dramatic thunderstorms in the evenings.
