As you trek upstream and downstream on the big loops, you’ll notice the volcanic flow’s layers, which are also a vital element. About 15 million years ago, basaltic lava flowed over the area. A long break followed, and then another flow, resulting in accumulated soil forming distinctive layers like a cake. Consequently, whenever lava weathers, it tends to erode layer by layer, forming the splendid drops that we admire today.
